Located in South Central Alaska, Anchorage is the largest city in Alaska and lies slightly farther north than Oslo, Stockholm, Helsinki and St. Petersburg.
The city is on a strip of coastal lowland and extends up the lower alpine slopes of the Chugach Mountains. To the south is Turnagain Arm, a fjord that has some of the world's highest tides.
Anchorage is home to 120 miles of paved trails, 170 parks and 2,000 moose! Not your typical US city to say the least, but you’ll be pleased to know that museums, art galleries, shopping and world class restaurants are also found amidst the stunning natural setting. Anchorage is easily accessible by land, air and sea making it an ideal base for adventure.
