Las Vegas Holidays - Viva Las Vegas!
Completely over the top and yet totally compelling, everyone should visit Las Vegas at least once.
If you aren’t a gambler don’t worry – there’s an endless array of activities to keep you busy day and night without going near a casino. And if you do try your luck on the tables heed the words of Frank Sinatra:
‘Las Vegas is the only place I know where money really talks - it says, "Goodbye."
Our "Top Tips" for a fabulous holiday to Las Vegas can be found in the following short video. But for more information, read on!
Every hotel along the famous Las Vegas Strip is a destination in its own right; each is hell-bent on outdoing the last for spectacular architecture, mind-boggling theme or sheer size. Within a mile you’ll see the Pyramids of Egypt, the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty and dozens more assaults to the senses.
So we have established that the choice of accommodation for your holiday in Las Vegas can be overwhelming. And it’s a fact that 17 of the 20 biggest hotels in the USA are here. But, don’t come away with the impression that all the hotels are the same. It can seem that every ‘Vegas resort is a big, glitzy palace of fun but there are substantial differences.
Location is key and your Bon Voyage consultant will tend to recommend a mid-Strip position so that you can walk to places instead of taking taxis the whole time. Room sizes vary considerably; some hotels play down their casino persona while others play it to the hilt; certain Las Vegas resorts are aimed more at the business group and convention visitors while others are most suitable for younger travellers ready to party 24/7.
We'll encourage you to plan your stay between Sunday and Thursday if at all practical as weekends get hectic and room rates can double. If you are ever going to go for 5-star deluxe, Vegas is the place to do it. Since much of the resort revenue comes from the tables, the best hotels can offer value that you won’t see matched anywhere else.
You’ll enjoy world-class dining and shopping on your Las Vegas holidays. Restaurants are plentiful and vary from fast food to fine dining. This is also a shopper’s paradise with endless mall and outlet options. And we shouldn’t forget the incredible selection of shows on offer...the biggest names in music and comedy along with an incredible selection of Cirque du Soleil and full theatre productions.

The amazing hotels of Las Vegas
As
we’ve seen choosing the right hotel is an important part of your Las Vegas
holiday. Here are some of our favourites: The Venetian was designed to bring a taste of Italy to the Nevada desert - and we must say, it's done so in true style. Spacious suites are kitted out with almost every comfort you could think of....Egyptian cotton sheets, remote-controlled shades, roman bathtubs and sunken living rooms. Fancy a romantic gondola ride? Why not! The amenities, entertainment and dining are all world-class - exactly what you'd expect from a 5-star hotel.
The Cosmopolitan offers spacious and urban styled rooms, which means you and your partner can enjoy an oasis of Las Vegas luxury that feels like your very own city apartment. Plus, this swanky hotel is one of only a few in Las Vegas with balconies! Just picture yourself in your wraparound balcony suite relaxing on your outdoor loveseat with a bottle of chilled champagne as you watch the dancing fountains at the Bellagio Hotel. Talk about WOW factor!
The Bellagio is pure old-school refined and for many years set the Las Vegas Strip standard for luxury. Rooms and suites are spacious with lovely décor. We will insist you opt for a fountain view. The pool area is divine with varied courtyard settings, a café and bar. Newer hotels may open, but the Bellagio always sits confidently in the middle of the action.
Caesars Palace brings the grandeur of Ancient Rome to the Nevada desert andcontinues toimpress visitors with a standard of service and accommodation that is hard to beat. Caesars is not a boutique hotel under any circumstance, however, considering it is one of the biggest hotels in Las Vegas, it continues to deliver interesting restaurants like the Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill, top acts in the Colosseum Theatre and intimate private spaces.
Wynn Las Vegas, Steve Wynn’s flagship hotel is a delight to the senses from the minute you arrive. Mr Wynn is the creative mind behind many of the interesting hotel displays and the attention to detail at his hotel is impeccable. One of our favourite rooms is the panoramic corner suite – the floor to ceiling windows are just the start. If you can pull yourself away from your room you’ll find a resort full of top class restaurants, shopping, nightlife and even an 18-hole golf course.
Pair your Las Vegas trip with exploring the West
If you fancy mixing your trip up a little, why not pair your break in Las Vegas with a jaunt around the West Coast? You can experience some amazing things along the way - here are just a few ideas:
- Relax in Palm Springs: The ultimate destination for relaxation, Palm Springs is a cosmopolitan city in the desert that's famous for its mix of stunning resorts, golf courses, boutiques and other leisure attractions.
- Experience the wonder of the Grand Canyon: Take a walk along the South Rim and stare in awe at one of the world's most famous natural wonders, the Grand Canyon.
- Go on a hike in Yosemite National Park: Explore this beautiful national park, which is home to a host of impressive rock formations, such as Half Dome and El Capitan.
