Lost Vegas - The Neon Museum
Saved and lovingly restored, the signs and associated stories now resident here, weave a fantastic tale of Vegas then and now. The nearly two-acre museum campus includes an outdoor exhibition space, known as the Boneyard, which features more than 150 signs. There’s also a visitors' centre housed inside the former La Concha Motel lobby and the Neon Boneyard North Gallery - the initial staging area for rescued signs and also a wedding venue. Hour long docent-guided tours of the Neon Boneyard are available seven days a week and should be booked in advance as spaces on each hourly tour are limited. Please note, the Boneyard is outside, so check the weather before you head out for the day and don't forget sunscreen!
The Neon Museum has partnered with the City of Las Vegas to install restored signs along Las Vegas Boulevard. Do your own self-guided urban sign tour along the strip and discover gems like the Silver Slipper, Binion's Horseshoe, the Lucky Cuss Hotel and more. Here’s a bit of history and the full Urban Gallery Tour.
Then finish your day o' nostalgia with a few hours exploring Fremont Street - the original Vegas! Although you don't need a car in Vegas, we'd definitely recommend for longer stays to consider it for a day or two so you can venture out and see beyond the Strip. AND, it's always cheaper to add it to your holiday before you go rather than deciding later and paying USA rates. Ask your Bon Voyage consultant for details.
