The pretty town of Winthrop is located in the Methow Valley of North Central Washington, around a 3 hour drive from Seattle.
Methow Valley is a major cross-country skiing location, providing 120 miles of freshly groomed trails and uncrowded conditions. The Nordic ski trail system is divided into three areas (all connected by the Methow Community Trail) and offers 30 kilometres of excellent skiing that includes a suspensionbridge crossing the Methow River, trail heads and lodges along the way.
Winthrop is also home to many other outdoor activities including rock climbing, hiking, mountain biking, river rafting, horseback riding, hunting and fishing, golfing and sight-seeing.
The Three Fingered Jack’s Saloon in Winthrop is the oldest saloon in Washington State. The city hosts different events throughout the year including the Winthrop Rhythm and Blues Festival, the Methow Valley Chamber Music Festival and Christmas at the End of the Road.
