"Hands down, my favourite fly-drive holiday was the Cool California Coast Tour in a groovy mustang along scenic Highway 1. Each of the seaside towns we visited were lively and great fun. I loved watching the surfers, I even did a bit of whale watching too. Starting the tour with a stay on the Queen Mary was fascinating, when I got to San Francisco I didn't want it to end, so I carried on up the coast and spent a few days on Northern California beaches too."

I loved the miles and miles of wilderness, the rugged coast with its uncrowded beaches and the lack of Brits (!) But the highlight was Crater Lake National Park, I will never forget the view from the terrace of the historic Crater Lake Lodge. I stayed here for a couple of nights and spent most of my time sitting on the terrace and taking in the jaw-dropping views over the incredible crater..it was magical."

"You've got to check out the hotels on our Fairmont Experience Tour fly-drive holiday of eastern Canada. I couldn't believe I was staying in 5 star hotels for the price of 3 star! My favourite city on this tour was Quebec, I loved strolling around old town in the evening. During the fly-drive holiday I even had time to take in thundering Niagara Falls and whale watching in Tadoussac. I'm a secret snob, I loved returning to my luxurious hotel each evening.."
