Tulsa was changed forever by the discovery of oil in 1901 and it's a city of nostalgia and special memories for many people due to its location on historic Route 66. The city has a splendid collection of Western art at the Gilcrease Museum and for a great shopping experience, a visit to Cherry Street or Utica Square is a must.

During summer months, Rodgers and Hammerstein's first and arguably greatest musical classic, Oklahoma!, is performed at the Discoveryland amphitheater where a barbecue dinner and roping lessons will make for a memorable evening.
