Go back in time in Mystic, where Mystic Seaport, America's leading maritime museum, is an authentic recreation of a 19th century seafaring village. With its tall ships and historic craft afloat, and its craftsmen and women demonstrating traditional skills, there are 17 acres of exhibits depicting coastal life in New England 150 years ago.  Other points of interest include the Marinelife Aquarium and the Denison Homestead, which begun in 1717 and worked upon until 1910, provides a unique architectural record.
