Colorado Springs Holidays
Sixty miles south of Denver lies Colorado Springs, the state’s second biggest city. Luckily it’s managed to keep the small town feel of the 1880’s when it was a leading resort known as Little London, as it was developed by the tycoon William Jackson Palmer who attracted so many English gentry to the town..
It is intimate and sophisticated, with the ornate Broadmoor Hotel the ultimate in historic elegance, and Pikes Peak Mountain looming over everything. Smart restaurants and stylish cafes abound. Nearby Manitou Springs, a spa and artists colony, with its galleries and traffic-free streets, is also a delight, and the place where you’ll board the cog railway up Pikes Peak.
Visit the 18,000 acre campus of the US Air Force Academy and the US Olympic Complex-both are free. Discover wilder places: Cheyenne Mountain State Park, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, the jagged rocks of Garden of the Gods and the huge Cave of Winds.
Bon Voyage offer a wide range of accommodation around this interesting part of Colorado from quaint B&B’s and ranches to luxury hotels. Please call us to find out more.
