Leave behind Sin City and head for the colourful slot canyons and incredible towering cliffs and hidden waterfalls of Zion National Park. Your day ends in Bryce Canyon and the fairytale land of hoodoos - tall limestone spires that rise majestically from the desert floor.
The day begins with a visit to Little Bighorn, the battlefield where the ill-fated Custer led his men against a battalion of Sioux and Cheyenne warriors. Venture into the Black Hills of South Dakota as you make your way to the base of Crazy Horse Memorial. Admire the colossal carved face of the famed Lakota war chief and learn about preserving Native American Culture before continuing to Rapid City.
Visit Mount Rushmore - the faces of former American presidents etched into the granite rock-face, then choose to venture into Badlands National Park. This evening, meet with Stephen Yellowhawk, who will regale you with stories of his tribe’s history during a festive dinner.
Today, you’ll travel through some of the West’s most beautiful terrain as you make your way from South Dakota, through Wyoming, to Colorado finally Denver, the Mile High City. Be sure to visit one of the micro-breweries in Denver, or stroll around historic Lodo (Lower Denver).
Ascend into the foothills of the Rockies and cross the Continental Divide en route to the alpine village of Vail, renowned for its epic powder-filled alpine basins that have attracted skiers since the 1960s. Continue to Moab for an evening at leisure. The following day starts your adventure into Canyon Country. See first-hand the power of the Colorado River carving its way through the rocky red landscape at Canyonlands National Park. Next up, the Arches National Park provides an insightful encounter with thousands of natural sandstone arches formed by rain and wind. Take a short hike to iconic Delicate Arch view point.
En route to magical Monument Valley, you'll visit the UNESCO World Heritage site at Mesa Verde National Park, Colorado. It was here between AD 600 and 1300, that the Ancestral Puebloan people carved houses and entire communities out of the sandstone of the canyon walls. You'll have time here to explore huge Cliff Palace, the largest cliff dwelling in the world.
Rise early to view the sunrise over Monument Valley. It's a magical experience. Today you'll explore the towering sandstones buttes on open-top vehicles accompanied by a local Navajo guide and learn more about the lore and legend of this special place.
The mighty Grand Canyon awaits you next on your guided tour of the national parks of America. Here you'll meet with a local expert and learn about the two billion years of geology revealed in the canyon. This is the last night of your tour and you'll be invited to a special Farewell Dinner with your travelling companions. A fabulous end to an amazing adventure.
Hit the road again, stopping in Seligman and Kingman - Route 66 hot spots that have kept the old Mother Road culture alive. End your journey back in Las Vegas where a complimentary transfer is provided to Las Vegas International Airport.
