Jasper is located in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, approximately a five-hour drive from Calgary or a four-hour ride from Edmonton. Between Lake Louise and Jasper, you will travel along the Icefields Parkway, one of Canada’s national treasures. This 142-mile stretch of road traces a thin paved line paralleling the Continental Divide. To call this world-class journey stunning doesn’t even scratch the surface.
In the town of Jasper itself, visitors enjoy a peaceful small-town atmosphere with alpine chalets and quaint B&Bs, setting an intimate scene with one of the world’s most impressive backdrops.
Mountain sheep, bears, wolves, elk and goats have a secure home here, often seen when driving down the roads around Jasper. Adventure seekers can opt for a hiking tour or explore the surrounding wilderness on horseback to improve the chance of spotting a Grizzly bear on your holidays. But even from inside the car, the scenery and mountain views are spectacular.
Where you stay is the heart of your holiday. Location reigns supreme but do you prefer resort facilities or unique and boutique? Historic and old world or modern and shiny?
We aim to present choices across the spectrum but there are many hundreds of places to stay and not room to feature them all. Do speak to your Bon Voyage travel consultant and click the video for our take on this important topic.
