Arrive into Vancouver late afternoon. Surrounded on three sides by water and with the Coast Mountain Range as a backdrop, Vancouver is constantly ranked as one of the best places in the world to visit. Enjoy a stroll along the lively waterfront this evening followed by a full day to explore Vancouver must-see attractions such as; the gardens and forests of Stanley Park; the lively waterfront galleries and artists’ studios of Granville Island; and the historic districts of Gastown, Chinatown and Yaletown.
You’ll be transferred this morning to your motorhome depot for a full orientation session on the vehicle before you hit the road. On your short, scenic ferry trip across the Strait of Georgia, you’ll pass the San Juan Islands before arriving on Vancouver Island.
Your two-night base is the historic city of Victoria, home to the world famous Butchart Gardens and its picturesque harbour dating back to 1840. Victoria is also a great spot for whale watching. Hop on a boat tour to view the resident Orca pods, humpbacks whales and an abundant of other marine life.
It’s back to the mainland today, via a short ferry ride to Horseshoe Bay, and the start of one of North America’s most spectacular drives, the ‘Sea to Sky Corridor’. Along the way, you’ll encounter dramatic vistas and soaring mountains before arriving at the pretty town of Whistler.
Enjoy endless outdoor activities and peaceful wetlands. For 360 degree views of Whistler and the surrounding mountains, be sure to hop on the Peak to Peak Gondola. Bear watching tours are also available from Whistler.
Prepare for astounding scenery as your make your way around Wells Gray Provincial Park and travel along the Thompson River to Jasper National Park. In the distance you'll see Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Rockies. Next up, the beautiful Yellowhead Pass divides British Columbia and Alberta.
Once in the park, consider a ride on the Jasper Tramway or a relaxing soak in Miette Hot Springs. If you're feeling more adventurous, the Athabasca River offers exciting white-water rafting excursions. For a more gentle option take a boat cruise to Spirit Island on Maligne Lake, the second-largest glacier fed lake in the world.
Drive to Banff via the spectacular Icefields Parkway. Be sure to venture onto the ice of the Athabasca Glacier in a mammoth Ice Explorer buses. Stop for a picnic lunch at Peyto Lake which is fed by a glacier and gives it the distinct turquoise colour.
Once in Banff, you have three days to explore Canada's oldest park. We'd recommend a trip to Bow Falls and a ride on the Sulphur Mountain Gondola. Nearby Lake Minnewanka is a delightful place to enjoy a relaxing boat trip in sensational scenery. Lake Louise is only a 40 minute drive away, but plan on an early morning visit as 'Canada's Diamond in the Wilderness' does get busy.
If you're up for driving a little further, visit Revelstoke National Park and the ‘Meadows in the Sky’ Parkway. This route rises to an elevation of 1,835 metres as you transcend into a world of spruce, cedar and sub-alpine wildflower meadows.
