Victoria
Considered one of the best places to go whale watching in the world. Victoria is a beautiful historical city, and the coastal waters are the perfect environment for transient orcas, humpbacks, and grey whales. Board, a comfortable cruiser or take to the open water on a high-speed zodiac. Home to almost 90 resident Killer Whales, Victoria enjoys one of the highest averages of whale sightings. Tofino/Ucluelet
Has one of the longest whale-watching seasons, running from March through to October. The most common of which are humpback or grey whales. In fact, From March to mid-April up to 19,000 Gray Whales migrate past the Pacific Rim, and every year a few stay around Clayoquot Sound (Tofino). This area has a stunning coastline with miles of soft, sandy beach bordered by thick rainforest, it’s very popular for Black bear watching.
Telegraph Cove
Located on the northeast tip of Vancouver Island and dubbed the Orca highway, this picturesque village sits on the edge of the Johnstone Strait. Hire kayaks and paddle through the clear waters for a close-up encounter with these gentle giants.
Prince Rupert
Located along the inside passage between Vancouver Island and Northern British Columbia its location makes it a world-class spot for whale watching. Prince Rupert Harbour is the third deepest, naturally ice-free harbour in the world, home to giant kelp beds which attract grey whales and migrating salmon, a firm favourite with humpback whales.
