You’ll want to explore the city’s neighborhoods as each offers a distinct character all its own. The heart of downtown Santa Monica is colourful Third Street Promenade. Shop and dine al fresco in the ocean breeze whilst soaking up the vibe created by local musicians and entertainers.
Just two blocks from the beach, Main Street is full of art galleries, the weekly farmers’ market and the Santa Monica Visitor Information Center. On the north end of town, Montana Avenue is a tree-lined boulevard very European in style with luxury shopping, unique stores and popular bistros, cafes and bakeries – all with a celebrity clientele. Won’t it be fun to see who you can spot? On the southern end of Santa Monica, Pico Boulevard features attractions like Santa Monica College’s performing arts venues, the planetarium, award-winning restaurants and a huge Saturday farmers’ market.
Wherever you decide to roam, one thing is certain – Santa Monica is way more than your average beach town.
Where you stay is the heart of your holiday. Location reigns supreme but do you prefer resort facilities or unique and boutique? Historic and old world or modern and shiny?
We aim to present choices across the spectrum but there are many hundreds of places to stay and not room to feature them all. Do speak to your Bon Voyage travel consultant and click the video for our take on this important topic.
