Philadelphia Holidays
"Philadelphia is a great place for a holiday - especially if you want to visit historic sites where the US began. The people are very friendly and welcoming" . Caroline in Southampton
The city of Brotherly Love is a myriad of adjectives. Historic, vibrant, cosmopolitan, friendly, and proud. An obvious choice for history buffs, but equally so for anyone looking for a city break brimming with things to do and experience. Philly is a "real" American city full of surprises.
The first thing you will discover about Philadelphia is that it is a walker’s paradise. Easy to navigate with neighbourhoods full of character and local flavour. One-of-a-kind restaurants are numerous and the food some of the best you will find in America.
Of course, all the historic highlights like Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell are musts, but you'll want to get under the surface of this city and soak up the atmosphere at iconic gems like Reading Terminal Market. A hustle and bustle of local market vendors selling all sorts along with the real reason for going -authentic Philly Cheesesteak stands. You haven’t visited Philadelphia until you’ve sampled their signature sandwich!
And, you must join the thousands of visitors each year who make like "Rocky" and run the stairs of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Good way to work off that cheesesteak!
Philly also offers plenty of retail opportunities holding its own against New York City. Plus there is no sales tax on clothing or shoes.
