Lahaina Holidays

Maui Whales

Only 35 minutes from Maui Airport and 10 minutes from Kaanapali Beach, Lahaina was the capital of the Hawaiian Islands from 1795-1843 and also the centre for the Pacific whaling industry.

Today this bustling small town does retain plenty of evidence of its historic past, with main sights including the Old Prison, the Seaman's Hospital and the Pioneer Inn.

The square at the heart of Lahaina is completely filled with a magnificent banyan tree and is a great place to hang out and shade yourself from the sun. The town does become alive at night, and offer fabulous water front dining by torch light and lively bars.

Be sure to take a whale watching boat from here during December-April to view the humpback whales that use the ocean channel as a sanctuary and a playground.

Ask us about the quaint and historic B&B accommodation available in this charming town.
