J. Paul Getty amassed a remarkable collection of antiquities, paintings and sculptures. He was a bold collector who enjoyed the pursuit of an object almost more than it's possession. These collections are now housed in the Getty Centre and the entrance (as Getty wanted it to be) is free of charge.

Set amid the wild beauty of the Santa Monica Mountains, the museum stucture in itself is an attraction.  Wander through the fine gardens with maginificent views over Los Angeles.
