During the Space Race of the 1960s, Houston secured its place in the technology field with the role played by Space Center Houston. Indeed the first word uttered from the surface of the moon was “Houston”.
Still at the heart of the NASA program, Space Center Houston has also become a top tourist attraction, with its NASA Tour, Blast Off Theater, Astronaut Gallery, and the Kids Space Place. The centre is both fun, informative and full of interactive exhibits, an IMAX cinema and opportunities to see what goes on behind the scenes at the Johnson Space Centre. It’s located 25 miles south of Houston on the way to Galveston.
