The West
Bryce Canyon National Park
Your first view of Bryce Canyon is dramatic, as the colours and sheer scale of the canyon is hidden behind a pine forest almost until you reach the rim. In fact it isn't actually a canyon at all, rather the eastern slope of the Paunsaguant Plateau but once you have seen the thousands of delicately carved spires you won’t care what it is called!
Millions of years of natural erosion have shaped and etched the pink cliffs and the vibrancy of the colours is at its most dramatic with the rising and setting of the sun. The park is best experienced from the 37-mile round-trip drive to Bryce Canyon's most famous viewpoints which include Sunrise, Sunset, Rainbow, Yovimpa, and Inspiration Points.
