Crater Lake National Park
Crater Lake is located in Southern Oregon in the Cascade Mountain range. It lies inside a caldera, or volcanic basin, created when Mount Mazama collapsed almost 8000 years ago following a large eruption. At 1943 feet deep it is the deepest lake in America.
Even seasoned travellers are awestruck by their first glimpse of the twenty-mile circle of cliffs framing this lake of indescribable blue.
Crater Lake and its surrounding countryside form the sixth oldest of America’s national Parks.
