Just over the Pontchartrain Causeway from New Orleans, you’ll find Louisiana Northshore – Louisiana’s original lakeside resort. St Tammany Parish is home to a delightful collection of towns. Incidentally, Louisiana’s counties officially adopted the ecclesiastical term parish in the early 1800s, and is the only US state that designates its districts by parish and there's 64 of them in the state!
This area is a perfect addition to a Deep South holiday, visit to New Orleans or a perfect dose of southern hospitality combined with other USA destinations.
Don't be surprised if you feel you've already been here - the varied locations, historic districts and diverse architectural styles make Louisiana Northshore the perfect location for film production.
There are four communities you’ll want to be sure to visit. You can easily spend a night or two in each giving you time to soak up the local ‘main streets’ or base yourself in one and do day trips to the other areas. No town is more than 20 minutes away from the next.
Luckily, we’ve been to the area, so can suggest the best way to get the most out of your visit.
