Monument Rocks
Erosion carved these beautiful chalk pyramids from what was once the floor of a vast inland sea. These limestone formations were originally formed 80 some million years ago and reach 70 feet in height. This site is the first natural landmark chosen by the US Dept. of the Interior as a National Natural Landmark.
Monument Rocks (also known as the Chalk Pyramids) lie to the west of Castle Rock in Gove County, Kansas
