The Skyway first opened its front gate on July 26th, 1950. Movies have lit up the screen every summer since then, making it the 2nd longest continuously running drive-in in Wisconsin.
Drive-in movie theatres were once a common sight throughout the state, but sadly there are only nine drive-ins still operating today.
Certain things have changed during the past 50 plus years, but many elements of the drive-in's history have been preserved. It is still a one screen drive-in with a snack bar basically set up the same way it was in the 1950's - with real butter on fresh popcorn!
The Skyway is open seasonally May through September.
