Day 1 : Calgary

Welcome to Canada!  Spend the day exploring the centre of Canada's oil industry which is steeped in western culture and earned Calgary the nickname “Cowtown.” This is the home of the famous stampede that takes place every July.  For the best elevated views of the city and beyond a visit to the Calgary Tower is a must.  Over 600 feet upwards, the spectacular 360° view of the city, the majestic Rocky Mountains, the foothills, and the prairies are why you came!  

Day 2 -3 : Kananaskis

Distance: 60 miles

Leave Calgary for the Kananaskis Valley in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Kananaskis Country is noted for its rugged mountain surroundings by the edge of the scenic Kananaskis River.  With numerous outdoor activities at your disposal, the choice is yours - golf, swim, hike or bike.  

Day 4 -5 : Banff

Distance: 36 miles

Arrive in one of the most scenic cities in Alberta.  Visit the Banff Natural History Museum, try river rafting or take a boat tour on Lake Minnewanka.  The incredible setting, combined with fun shops and plenty of restaurants and bars, make this an ideal base.  

Day 6-7 : Jasper

Distance: 190 miles

Drive to Jasper via the spectacular Icefields Parkway. We suggest a stop at Lake Louise and Peyto Lake along the way. Take an Ice Explorer ride on the Columbia Icefield.

Once in Jasper, there is plenty to see and do.  We suggest a Maligne Lake boat cruise, Miette Hot Springs visit or a ride on the Jasper Tramway.  Wildlife tours are plentiful as well, so ask your Bon Voyage consultant to suggest a few.  

Day 8 : Sun Peaks

Distance: 293 miles

Drive the scenic Yellowhead Highway to Sun Peaks with a stop at Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies located entirely within Mount Robson Provincial Park of British Columbia.

Day 9 - 10 : Harrison Hot Springs

Distance: 266 miles

Drive past Kamloops and continue into the breathtaking landscape of the Fraser Canyon. Go through Hell's Gate and the Fraser Valley to the resort of Harrison Hot Springs.  Enjoy the soothing waters of the mineral hot springs and the wide sandy beach with numerous recreational activities. 

Day 11 : Victoria

Distance: 193 miles

The journey leads to Victoria on Vancouver Island. You'll drive along the rugged coastline and pass through Nanaimo and Chemainus. In Victoria, we suggest a visit to the Inner Harbour, Bastion Square and Beacon Hill Park. Drop in for afternoon tea at the Empress Hotel.

Day 12 -14 : Vancouver

Distance: 46 miles

Butchart Gardens demands a morning visit before returning to the mainland on a mini-cruise across the Strait of Georgia. Spend the rest of the day exploring the bustling city of Vancouver - known for its shopping, dining and nightlife.

With an entire day to explore Vancouver and the surrounding area, you'll want to wake up early and get started!  Places of interest include Chinatown, Gastown, the Capilano Suspension Bridge, Granville Island, Grouse Mountain and Stanley Park.  You'll also have the morning of your final day before heading back to the UK.
