Cross the Yukon River by state ferry and drive the Top of the World Highway towards Tok. Weather permitting, you'll experience stunning views of far reaching countryside from the Top of the World Highway. Head next towards the Taylor Highway to the Alaska Highway. At the intersection with the Alaska Highway continue east towards Beaver Creek, Canada.
The small town of Beaver Creek is a remote outpost in the Yukon very near to the Alaskan border. It's home to the White River First Nations tribe. Throughout the year this area offers an abundance of outdoor activities including snowmobiling and cross-country skiing in winter and excellent hiking in the warmer months.
Drive the Haines Highway along the perimeter of Kluane National Park towards Haines. Just 20 miles before Haines the highway leads through the Chilkat Valley and its Bald eagle preserve.
This 48,000 acre Preserve that spans over the Chilkat, Kleheni and Tsirku Rivers was established to protect and perpetuate the world's largest concentration of Bald Eagles and their critical habitat. It also sustains and protects the natural salmon runs. Overnight Haines.
