When you're ready to work on that tan, there is plenty of white sand beach to choose from. The bigger resorts will also have fabulous pools, so you can divide your time between the two. When it's time to dine or do a spot of shopping, be sure to hit Lincoln Road - the pedestrian area is chock full of restaurants, boutiques and nightlife.
If you'd rather be in residential neighbourhood - it's Coral Gables all the way. The Biltmore Hotel is one of our favourite places to stay and has the largest pool in the USA. Johnny Weismuller (Tarzan) and Esther Williams were regulars here back in the day. Be sure to visit the Venetian Pool too - a restored aquifer filled pool dating back to the 1920s. Bike riding along the residential streets is ideal and when it's time for a bite and some retail therapy - be sure to hit the Miracle Mile and Shops at Merrick Park.
