Apache Trail Scenic Drive
The Apache Trail, between Apache Junction and Roosevelt Lake, was constructed in the 1930's to support the development of dams
along the Salt River. If you enjoy driving, this rugged and steep 39 mile journey through the Superstition Mountains is a fun trip. If you
don't like to drive, avoid it, as most of the roads have a maximum speed limit
of 15 mph!
Please note parts of the trail are unpaved and your car hire insurance will not cover you on this part of the terrain.
Please note that Apache Trail is available as a guided day trip from Phoenix/Scottsdale.
