Star War Lands, officially named Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, set to open 2019

Be in the middle of the action at a remote trading port, Batuu, on the edge of space where Star Wars characters come to life. The lands will feature two major attractions with guests at the heart of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance. The first, will make you feel like you’re on a Star Destroyer inside a hangar bay. You'll be gob smacked by the gigantic scale that not even Disney has attempted before. The second attraction will give visitors the chance to fly the Millennium Falcon, piloting the ship, shooting blasters and preparing for hyperspace. You’ll also recognise many familiar faces including BB-8, Chewbacca, members of the First Order and more.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will open first in Disneyland Resort, California and later in the year in Walt Disney World Resort, Florida. Have a sneak peek.........

WDW MIckey & family at castle

Fans of Mickey, will be thrilled to visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios for the first ever Mickey themed ride-through attraction - Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway

Plans were unveiled in 2017 with a tentative open date of 1 May 2019.  The iconic mouse turns 90 in November 2018, so a great time to pay homage to the mouse that started it all. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, will have you step though a movie screen and join Mickey and his friends in the amazing world of a cartoon short.  You’re the star and anything can happen. This zany adventure features surprising twists and turns, dazzling visual effects and mind-boggling transformations that even Disney Imagineers can’t believe are possible.

P.S.  Did you know that originally Mickey was going to be called Mortimer Mouse?  Just doesn't have the same ring at all! Good thing Walt Disney's wife convinced him to use Mickey.  What do they say, behind every talented man...........?
