Arguably one of the greatest cruising routes in the world, the Inside Passage stretches through stunning landscapes, from Misty Fjords National Monument to famed Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve.
Watch out for wildlife as you cruise gently along as the Inside Passage offers opportunities to spot some of Alaska’s most iconic wildlife, with humpback whales and orca plying the bountiful waters alongside the ships, bald eagles soaring overhead and brown bears lumbering on the shoreline.
Today, you'll also view the dramatic Sawyer Glaciers at the end of Tracy Arm. Framed by majestic mountains and bathed in the blue hue of the ice, this area is truly a sight to behold.
Arrive in sleepy Juneau, one of the most remote, most beautiful of the USA's state capital cities. Here you can choose to explore historic downtown, but most people prefer to hike up Mount Roberts to get a glimpse of bald eagles and wild deer. Take a trip to Auke Bay for a spot of whale-watching, or take to the air on a floatplane to view bears lolling around in the pristine wilderness. Trips can be pre-booked in advance with Bon Voyage.
Sail overnight from Juneau to the colourful frontier town of Skagway.
This former frontier town once served as the main gateway to Alaska’s legendary goldfields, and was known for its raucous trading posts and saloons. When the gold rush era faded away in the 1900s, so did Skagway.
Today, it has has been lovingly restored and is the perfect place to discover Alaska’s wild history. In every nook and cranny of this port you’ll find yourself immersed in gold rush lore from the infamous Red Onion Saloon where you can view the pistol Wyatt Earp’s left on his way to the Klondike, to the White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad, a classic narrow-gauge railway that traverses rugged mountains and passes cascading waterfalls and towering glaciers as it connects Skagway to Whitehorse deep in the Yukon.
As much of the town has been preserved as part of the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park, you can enjoy free walking tours lead by rangers around the historic district, where you’ll also discover galleries, curio shops and seafood restaurants.
Tours available from Skagway include the White Pass Summit Scenic Railroad, Klondike Highway and Liarsville Gold Camp and the Glacier Discovery by helicopter. These can be booked in advance with Bon Voyage.
This morning awake and gaze out over Glacier Bay, a 1,500 foot deep fjord, one of the planet's largest biosphere reserves and a World Heritage Site.
Here stone, ice and water collide, sculpting a dramatic landscape that has become the crown jewel of southeastern Alaska's natural wonders.
You'll be sailing in the bay until 4pm that day, be prepared as it can rain, even in the summer months. Bring wet weather gear and dress in layers so you can spend as much time enjoying the view on deck as possible.
Sail into Ketchikan mid-morning. Alaska's 'First City' clings to the banks of the Tongass Narrows and is surrounded by lush green forests.
It is one of the best spots along the Inside Passage to explore the rich cultural sights of Native Alaskan nations like the Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian. You can see intricately carved totem poles at the Totem Heritage Center and Totem Bight State Park, while the attractions of Saxman Village just outside of Ketchikan offers the chance to see Tlingit culture in action, with working carvers and a dance show in the clan house
Head into town to explore historic Creek Street where you can shop for souvenirs, and check out gold-rush era attractions like Dolly's House Museum.
Excursions available from Ketchikan include salmon fishing, Totem Bight State Park, Rainforest Experience and a seaplane trip amongst the misty fjords, to name a few. Bon Voyage can pre-book these trips in advance for you.
Set out for Stanley Park to view First Nations totem poles, then, explore Chinatown and Gastown. Travel by ferry to Vancouver Island and Victoria. En route, visit a family-owned winery and taste the perfectly-balanced vintages, aged in French oak barrels. Indulge in a Be My Guest lunch of local cuisine delicately paired with their delicious wines. On arrival in Victoria, enjoy a tour of the city.

Then relax and enjoy the beautifully landscaped grounds of your riverside inn before enjoying dinner followed by s'mores roasted on an open fire.
