It's time to hit the hit the road! Transfer to the motorhome depot for an orientation session and vehicle pick-up. Heading south, you'll travel through rolling prairie hills and cattle country before stopping for your first overnight in Waterton Lakes National Park on the Canadian/USA border.
Consider a stop en route in Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump UNESCO World Heritage Site. This archaeological site, known around the world, preserves the remarkable history of the Plains People through the millennia.
Waterton is characterised by the meeting of the Rocky Mountain peaks with the low-land prairies, Drive to Redrock Canyon and hike the Blakiston Falls. Keep an eye out for grizzly bears as you take the winding 10 mile Akamina Parkway to beautiful Cameron Lake.

Today you'll cross the border into the USA and make your way to Montana and a park considered the Crown of the Continent, Glacier National Park. Experience glaciers, towering mountains, reflective lakes, abundant wildlife, and of course, both the Continental Divide and the famous 50-mile Going-to-the-Sun Road.

Travel through Montana's Big Sky Country. The Seeley-Swan scenic drive is a 90 mile long corridor along Highway 83 stretching through the Swan Valley from Swan Lake to Seeley Lake. Your overnight is in the tiny western cowboy town of Deer Lodge. More museums and historical collections can be found here than in any other town in the Northwest.

We will take you from Island Park with a 15 mile volcanic basin via Mesa Falls, and the Menan Buttes to the Salmon/North Fork area, which offers a refreshing step back into the Old West.

Highway 93 will take you north. This is a gorgeous drive and one that touches on the themes of exploration, fur trapping, mining, settlement, and Native American heritage. Missoula is known as the "Garden City" for its dense trees and lush green landscape. It is nestled in the heart of the northern Rockies where five valleys converge.

Today again, you will encounter soaring mountains, pleasant valleys and deep blue lakes. The scenery is flat-out fabulous. Your overnight stay is in pretty Newport is a small, rural town located in northeast Washington on the Pend Oreille River.

Today you are crossing the border into Canada. But not before you explore Sandpoint's abundant natural attractions include Lake Pend Oreille, Idaho's largest lake, the Moyie Falls, and the Moyie River, which flows through one of Idaho's most impressive canyons. Fort Steele is a step back in time. The site is one of the larger heritage town attractions in British Columbia.

You are entering Kootenay National Park today. Make sure to park and walk to Sinclair Canyon. There are several incredible view points along this drive and we would encourage you to explore them all. Olive Lake and the Kootenay Valley Viewpoint are gorgeous, as are Numa Falls and Marble Canyon. These stops will all be mentioned in your comprehensive road book, as we don't want you to miss a thing!
With a full day to explore Banff and surroundings, you will have time to see Lake Minnewanka, Johnston Canyon, and Sulphur Mountain where you can dip in the hot pools and take the gondola to the top of the mountain.

Today you follow one of the world's most scenic drives, the famous Icefields Parkway. It is possible to travel this route in 3 hours but it is a crime to do so because of the jaw-dropping scenery. Enjoy constant views of crystal blue lakes, glaciers, forested hills and several impressive waterfalls. Along the stretch, big horn sheep, deer, black bears, and coyotes are frequently spotted. See the Crowfoot Glacier and famous Peyto Lake, do a glacier tour at the Columbia Icefields and marvel at the beauty of Lake Louise.
Enjoy a full day to explore Jasper National Park. Take a cruise on one of the most photographed lakes in the world, Maligne Lake or visit the flowered alpine meadows and glacier of Mount Edith Cavell. You can also hike on top of Whistler Mountain or take a soothing dip in the historic Miette Hot Springs.

In your road book you will be offered two routes to choose from today. You'll either take the Yellowhead Highway in the eastern direction and the Cowboy Trail south, or drive the Icefields Parkway and then the David Thompson Highway. Both options deliver sensational scenery before you arrive into the aspen parkland around the western town of Rocky Mountain House.
The town has a long history dating to the 18th century with the presence of British and Canadian fur traders and many explorers such as David Thompson, in search for a passage west to the Pacific Ocean. Many travellers used this location as a stop on their way farther west or northwest, just like you today in the 21st century!
