Unique amongst American cities in being steeped in history on a European scale, Boston is a pleasing blend of the old and the new. We recommend you start your holiday with the Freedom Trail, a three-mile long red-lined route taking in the sights of Old Boston.
Contemporary city life is captured at Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, enlivened by clowns and magicians. The busy city streets can be avoided by taking the T subway to get around and we suggest a visit to the fascinating Kennedy Library and Museum.
If you are lucky enough to be in Boston during the whale watching season (Apr-Nov) then do stroll down to the harbour and hop on one of the many boats trips available from here. Be sure to check out the Cheers Bar and take a ride on the Swan Boats in charming Boston Common too.
If you love to shop the you'll enjoy Boston as it allows tax free shopping on clothes and shoes.
Interested in Witch History of the 1600's? Then you'll love the picturesque little town of Salem where the famous Witch Trails took place.

Arrive in Toronto.
Toronto is a city of culture with world-class theatre, art, music and dance and of sports and entertainment. You'll find sensational shopping on your holidays to Toronto with everything from street bazaars to Tiffany's. Start at the Eaton Centre, a mall with over 300 stores joining at each end two of Canada's major department stores.
Head for Queen Street West for its funky fashions, bistros, galleries and bookstores. There's plenty of nightlife to enjoy on your holidays to Toronto. As night falls an eclectic mix of people soak up jazz, blues, reggae, rock and soul in a variety of bars, clubs and restaurants.
Rise above it all at the CN Tower for amazing views of the city and Lake Ontario. There is a unique view through the glass floor of the Observation Deck and you can dine in the revolving restaurant. Our Toronto holiday tip is to arrive as the Tower opens at 9am - you'll beat the crowds and see the city at its most beautiful.
Whilst in Toronto, a trip out to Niagara Falls is a must. The honeymoon capital of the world, Niagara Falls has transformed itself into a colourful and entertaining celebration of popular culture. Aside from spectacular views of the Falls from above, you can visit Table Rock where you'll descend through moist tunnels directly behind the Falls.
Day 6 - 8 : Washington DC
Head down to Washington D.C, America's capital. Washington, DC is a cosmopolitan capital city, packed with many famous sights and free attractions and home to some of the world's best-known museums and galleries, including the Smithsonian Institution, and the International Spy Museum.
We love the trolley tours that operate daily throughout the city, if you are really energetic hop on one of the bike tours of the major attractions, better still take a tour of the city at night when all the famous monuments and statues are lit up.
Combine this with hip new restaurants and bars, stunning hotels, great nightlife, live music, theatres, charming neighbourhoods and terrific shopping options and you have a fantastic few days here.
