Located on Winyah Bay on the South Carolina coast, this small town has a large, lively seaport. It is believed that in 1526, the Spanish explorer, Lucas Vázquez de Ayllón, founded a colony of European settlers and African slaves. When the Spanish colony failed, English settlers came to the region in the 1730s and the old town, now the historic district, was formed. Follow in the footsteps of some American greats like George Washington or James Monroe.

Established in 1732, Camden is South Carolina’s oldest inland city and steeped in history. Grab a free map and head for its historic district which features more than 60 historic sites. From cottages to spacious mansions, the district is the reflection of Camden's 250-year-old history ranging from the Revolutionary War era to the antebellum South to the winter residences established in the early 1900s.

Kiawah Island, a barrier island just shy of Charleston, is an oasis of untouched natural beauty. Here you can discover maritime forests, sand dunes, and ten miles of pristine beachfront where you can spy loggerhead turtles and bottlenose dolphins frolicking in the ocean.
