Ask most people to name a famous American architect and it is very likely their answer will be Frank Lloyd Wright. Wright quite simply changed the way we build and live. Over a career spanning seventy years, Wright designed over 1,000 architectural works with half of them realised and arguably among the most innovative spaces in the United States.
Fans of the renowned architect won't want to miss a tour of Taliesin West. Nestled in the desert foothills of the McDowell Mountains it was Wright’s beloved winter home established in 1937. It was built and maintained almost entirely by Wright and his apprentices, making it one of the most personal of Lloyd Wright’s creations. Literally forged from the desert, Taliesin West possesses an almost prehistoric grandeur. And, the Wright vision continues today with the School of Architecture at Taliesin also on the grounds.
