Leavenworth, with a population of a little over 2000 residents and sometimes better know as the `German Village` or the `Bavarian Village` is a dynamic year-round tourist town located in central Washington. Leavenworth celebrates many Bavarian festivals and events ranging from Kinderfest (only for children), International Accordion Celebration, Oktoberfest, its well-known Christmas Lighting and the Autumn Leaf Festival, which is the oldest festival in Washington State.
Leavenworth is rich in art and culture with theatre and many great galleries. From May to October the city hosts its longest festival “Art in the Park”, offering an abundance of musical performances that adds an even greater atmosphere to the small town.
The ‘Bavaria Village’ offers an endless list of activities and interests such as shopping, wine tasting, museums, live music, food and theatre plays. Its natural surroundings offer seasonal activities including hiking, mountain biking, wagon rides, snowboarding, Nordic skiing, dog sledding, cross-country skiing and much more.
