Imagine. Two oceans full of the world's most sought-after gamefish. Marlin, tuna and dolphin. Welcome to Islamorada, the Sport Fishing Capital of the World!
The huge variety of fish in these waters make Islamorada a must visit destination for divers too. If you crave dry-land, you can enjoy the acrobatic dolphins at the Theatre of The Seas (swim with them here if you like too) Or stroll around the colourful collection of arts, crafts and other island treasures in the shops and galleries at Rain Barrel, on nearby Plantation Key.
Perhaps you'd like to explore the wild tamarind groves and Mexican sisals planted by Henry Perrine in Indian Key Historical Site.
If you're feeling a bit daring visit the Lignumvitae Botanical Gardens and climb to the highest elevation in the Keys....a dizzy 18 feet!
If you're a lover of seafood, you're in the right place, stop by The Islamorada Fishing Company restaurant or Pierres, the famous, flaming Keys sunsets here are to die for too!
Where you stay is the heart of your holiday. Location reigns supreme but do you prefer resort facilities or unique and boutique? Historic and old world or modern and shiny?
We aim to present choices across the spectrum but there are many hundreds of places to stay and not room to feature them all. Do speak to your Bon Voyage travel consultant and click the video for our take on this important topic.
We would rate the Bellagio as one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Fabulous, glitzy, exciting. We loved having breakfast at the poolside café... one of our best experiences ever. If it hadn't been for you we wouldn't have had the suite or cabana and we loved them. We both agreed that the hotel was the best for us and you had suggested that so well done!
