No trip to Historic Philadelphia would be complete without a visit to the
home of America’s famous flagmaker.
The Betsy Ross House is located just around the corner from Independence
National Historical Park
.
The circa-1740 rowhouse has been restored to
the period when Betsy Ross, as the story tells it, is said to have
created the first American flag. The house is furnished with period antiques
and furniture and highlights include several objects known to have belonged to
Betsy Ross.
