Grauman's Chinese Theatre opened with the 1927 debut of the original silent version of "King of Kings," produced by Cecil B. DeMille. Since then, the Chinese Theatre has been the site of more Hollywood movie premieres than any other theatre. In the 1940's, the theatre also hosted the annual Academy Award ceremonies.
in January 2013, the world famous Chinese Theatre announced that they would be teaming up with one of China’s biggest electronics manufacturers, TCL in a ten year partnership renaming the theatre TCL Chinese Theatre. The theatre also has the unique Forecourt of the Stars, which features cement hand and footprints of movie stars past to present.
