Live Like a Film Star in Utah
The Shooting Star RV Resort offers eight star-studded Airstreams (silver bullet styled old fashioned American RVs/film set trailers).
The décors are modelled straight from the sets of films like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Some Like It Hot, Viva Las Vegas and Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
Located on Scenic Byway 12, classified as one of the most beautiful byways in the USA, this all-American resort is just a mile from the town of Escalante. With plenty of shops, restaurants and a wide range of adventure activities, this is a perfect stop before, during or after.
Within the resort there’s a classic outdoor movie theatre featuring 1960s convertibles as seats and the Snack Shack has fresh, hot buttered popcorn. Movies under the starry Utah sky.....a very cool all-American experience!
Community fire pits are located throughout the property... s’mores anyone? Lounge in a hammock, or just let the 360-degree views of the Grand Staircase, the Escalante Mountains and Dixie National Forest entertain you.
Nearby, you can explore :
Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument and Petrified Forest State Park
Bryce Canyon National Park, Kodachrome Basin State Park and the world-renowned Slot Canyons in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area- 55 miles
Capitol Reef and Zion National Parks
Day trip to the north side of the Grand Canyon
Prices from around £70 per night for ‘The Kid’s Hideout’ – a classic airstream sleeping two modelled on Robert Redford’s trailer when he was shooting Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
Larger airstreams suited to a family of four are available around £80 per night such as Bogie’s Boathouse, modelled on Humphrey Bogart’s retreat during the filming of Key Largo with Lauren Bacall.
