It is often said that driving from Phoenix to Grand Canyon is the scenic equivalent of driving from Mexico to Canada because of the incredible environmental diversity of Arizona. Tour itinerary-
Day 1 -
With a morning departure from Phoenix or Scottsdale, through the
Sonoran desert, we approach Sedona and visit one of 2 National Monuments, either
Tuzigoot or Montezuma's Castle. Both monuments represent societies of Sinagua
indians who inhabited this area a thousand years ago. While in Sedona touring
options range from the spiritual to the environmental. You can hike into a
vortex, shop, or get a psychic reading. Helicopter, horseback or jeep tours are
available and your guide will always make you feel like you are on your very own
private tour. Your guide will depart Sedona around 2pm and you
will remain in Sedona on your own until you are met the following morning around
9:30 am to travel to Grand Canyon. Dinner and an overnight stay are in Sedona
tonight.
Day 2 -
You will meet today's tour at 9:30am at your Sedona hotel and
travel one of the country's best scenic routes. Oak Creek Canyon has 1000+ foot
canyon walls and switchbacks through a lush green Ponderosa pine forest on your
way to Flagstaff. Arrive at the south rim of Grand Canyon at approximately
12:00 pm with hiking, multiple rim views and helicopter tours among your options. Dinner and an overnight stay with a sunset vista
from the south rim are here tonight in a National Park Lodge, near the rim of
Grand Canyon. Your guide will check you into your hotel and you will remain in
Grand Canyon until you meet your guide at approximately 1:30pm on the following
day.
Day 3 - You will have the morning to yourself at the Grand Canyon until about 1:30pm. At that time, you will be met by your guide to join today's tour for the East Rim Drive and more Grand Canyon views on the way to the Navajo Nation and views of the Painted Desert. We return to Phoenix/Scottsdale area at approximately 7:30 pm.
This is a small group departure of no more than 10 travellers using luxury transportation.
