"Barefoot elegance" is the trademark of the newly renovated Cheeca Lodge & Spa. The property sits on 27 tropical,lush acres in Islamorada - the sport fishing capital of the word - almost exactly half way between Miami and Key West.
The resort is beautifully appointed with elegant guest bedrooms, two excellent restaurants and a choice of bars.
There are 3 pools-one adult lap pool surrounded by private stylish cabanas, a seawater lagoon pool (complete with tropical fish) and a delightful main pool which over looks the sea.
There are a wide range of water based sports and activities available on site (we recommend the Eco-tours) or close to the property including a dive centre and school, boat rental, windsurfing and catamaran cruising.
While the grown-ups relax on the beach, the kids will enjoy going to Camp Cheeca (charged locally). Or for a great family day out, visit the Turtle Hospital Dolphin Research Centre or the Aqua Ranch.
When it comes to dining we love the nearby Pierre’s restaurant and Café Morada which offer beach dining complete with flaming sunsets each evening.
