Days 1 & 2 Boston, Massachusetts
A shuttle transfer from the airport to your hotel will await you on a arrival at Boston Airport, the gateway to New England.
Your knowledgable tour director will be available in the lobby of your hotel from 1800-2100, he'll answer any queries you have about the tour and suggest restaurants to visit for your first evening.
The following morning join your friendly tour director in the lobby of the hotel for a 0900 departure. During this morning's tour of historic Boston you'll experience the contrast between past and present, viewing sites ranging from the Old North Church to the modern John Hancock Tower. The afternoon is free to explore this charming, walkable city on your own.

Day 3 Massachusetts to Mid Coast Maine
This morning you'll depart at 0900 and travel along the picturesque north shore of Massachusetts and onto the rugged southern coast of Maine. En route you'll stop at the fascinating town of Salem famous for its 17th century witchcraft trials. Further up the coast is the quaint fishing port of Gloucester and the Fisherman's Memorial statue commemorating "...they that go down in ships" It's onwards next to discover to the pretty artists colonies of Rockport and Kennebunkport.
Your overnight stay is in Portland, Maine, here you can wonder the cobbled streets and pop into the many lively taverns..

Day 4 Maine to the White Mountains, New Hampshire.
Today you'll feel the wind in your hair as you start the day with a visit to the Portland Head Light. Next, it's off inland to New Hampshire's glorious White Mountains. You'll love the Fall foliage view as you travel along the scenic Kancamagus, an old Indian Trail which cuts through the national forest. Next, it's a ride on the aerial tramway to the summit of Cannon Mountain where you'll see spectacular views of New Hampshire and the incredible blanket of autumn colours. Don't forget your camera!

Day 5 White Mountains to the Green Mountains, Vermont
More than 1,300 lakes adorn New Hampshire's Lake Region, many films are set here, the most famous being "On Golden Pond" Today you'll view two of these delightful lakes, Winnipesaukee and Squam. Your journey continues on into Vermont's splendid Green Mountain region. You'll stop a while to take photo's of the breathtaking views of Quechee Gorge, before you head off to the quintessential New England hamlet of Woodstock, where you have plenty of free time to stroll around the leafy lanes and walk across the famous covered bridge.

Day 6 Green Mountains to Connecticut River Valley, Massachusetts
Today, you'll head south through the pastoral beauty of Vermont stopping en route at Manchester Village, one of the best designer shopping outlets in the USA. The afternoons journey will take you into the pretty Berkshire Mountains and a visit to the fascinating Hancock Shaker Village.

Days 7 & 8 Connecticut River Valley to Cape Cod via Rhode Island
Today, you'll travel to Newport, Rhode Island, the lively sailing capital of New England. Here, at the turn of the of the century, America's most wealthy families lived in truly opulent homes that they referred to as their "cottages". They were far from the cottages we know, you'll get a chance today to tour these palatial mansions along the famous Bellevue Avenue. Next, it's onto Cape Cod with its long, white sandy beaches, charming fishing villages with a laid-back island way of life.
Here you'll have a choice of a ferry trip over to the island of Martha's Vineyard or a whale watching cruise.

Day 9 Cape Cod to Boston Airport
It's the end of your 9 day adventure around New England, but there is still time for some last minute sightseeing before you board your early evening flight back to the UK.
En route back to Boston you'll tour the lovely village of Sandwich, Cape Cod's oldest town. Next, it's historic Plimoth Plantation where your invited to experience life as it was in 1627.
