The northern region of Illinois, outside of the Chicago area, offers a peaceful holiday from the city.  Full of small friendly towns and local wineries there are also many historic sites like the boyhood home of Ronald Reagan to explore during your Illinois holidays.

The central section is largely Amish country where they’ve been settled for over 140 years.  The southernmost tip of Illinois state is home to Superman – really!  The city of Metropolis is host every June to people from around the world who visit for the annual “Superman Celebration.”
