Day 1 Arrive Philadelphia

Tour begins: 6:00 PM, Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia. A transfer is included from Philadelphia International Airport to the Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia. You might want to arrive a day early to explore more in and around America’s first capital. Please join us this evening for a welcome cocktail reception and dinner at your elegant five star hotel on Logan Square.

Day 2 Philadelphia

Around every corner lies a piece of American history on a full day of sightseeing in Philadelphia. Tour Independence Hall, site of the signing of the Declaration of Independence; ride a horsedrawn carriage along cobblestone streets; see the Liberty Bell in its new home; and visit the National Constitution Center, where you’ll view the multimedia presentation Freedom Rising. The remainder of the day is free to explore as you please in Philadelphia.

Day 3 Amish Country/Gettysburg

Traverse rolling Pennsylvania farmland to Lancaster County; a guided tour looks at the unique cultural traditions of the Amish. Continue to Gettysburg; explore the grounds of Gettysburg National Military Park – site of one of the Civil War’s most significant battles – with a National Park Service guide. At Tauck’s exclusive, private dessert reception tonight, a storyteller in period garb recounts the experience of a civilian caught in town during the 1863 fighting.

The 18th century becomes very real when you spend an entire day exploring Colonial Williamsburg. Day 6 Jamestown/Washington DC

Travel the short distance to Jamestown, site of the first permanent English settlement in the Americas. An informative lecture examines the influence of the Powhatan, English and African cultures; see exhibitions on America’s early heritage during a walking tour. Then it’s off to the nation’s capital for a two night stay in the historic Renaissance Mayflower Hotel, Washington’s “second best” address. You’ll long remember the sight of Washington’s storied monuments illuminated against the night sky on an evening tour!
