“The Grove” has come a long way since the 60s when it was largely populated by artists and writers. More recently it has followed South Beach as the trendy hotspot, awash with cool restaurants and even cooler bars and clubs.

It is worth visiting James Deering’s astonishingly ambitious recreation of the sixteenth century Italian villa, Villa Vizcaya – made even more amazing by the fact that it cost $15m…in 1914!  Also of note is the Fairchild Tropical Garden, the largest tropical botanical garden in the US.
