BC and The Bears!
From £2250
Set near the world’s deepest fjord, and surrounded by the dramatic scenery of central British Columbia’s Cariboo Mountains, the Pyna-Tee-Ah Lodge offers a perfect location for a true bear watching adventure!
The area is rich in wildlife and the rivers and estuaries of Quesnel Lake teem with trout and sockeye salmon making it a haven for fishing. You will be led by Gary Zorn, the ‘bear whisperer ‘ of the Caribou Mountains on daily bear and wildlife viewing excursions by boat or foot to areas along the waterways and shorelines that bears are known to frequent as they hunt for salmon and other food.
As an expert that has devoted his life studying the social hierarchy, habits, habitat and body language of these creatures, this unique guide leads you on an unforgettable wildlife viewing experience. In the evenings back at the lodge, you can relax and share your experiences with fellow guests or sit comfortably outdoors, perhaps even catching a glimpse of the northern lights.
Did you manage to see Billy Connolly's "Journey to the Edge of the World" series? Well, part of it was about Billy’s goal to view and film wild grizzly bears in their natural habitat.
