BAAM! - The Birmingham Arts and Music Festival is a music and arts festival showcasing multiple venues.
Planned for August 12-14 BAAM! aims to be Birmingham's version of the famed South By Southwest Festival in Austin, TX. The Birmingham Arts and Music Festival will showcase more than 75 acts in at least 11 venues around the downtown area. The festival will have acts from Nashville, Atlanta and Houston but will mostly be a celebration of the local music scene. See www.baamfest.com .
Alabama has launched a new website to celebrate it’s “Year of Music!”. The website, launched in January 2011, it contains the latest information on music festivals, venues and history of music in Alabama. There is also a new brochure entitled “100 places to hear live music in Alabama” which will list the top music attractions in Alabama including FAME recording studios, two Hank Williams museums, the Alabama Music Hall of Fame and the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame.
